Weekly Update| Mon 13th - Fri 17th Sept 2010

During the first week, we brainstormed ideas for our horror teaser trailer for setting, plot, sub-genre and how the character will be portrayed in the film. In terms of setting, we first discussed filming outdoors, during the afternoon starting late October when it gets dark from as early as 3:30pm so as to create a feeling of fear and darkness in the trailer and also to help build tension. We then concluded that this may not be the best choice because of the limitation of lighting and the fact that we don't have access to the sufficient lighting needed to light up any outdoor shots, taking into consideration the complexity of some of the shots. After several discussions on setting, we decided on filming indoors, for the reason that is easier to light up a closed space rather than an open space where the weather conditions are constantly changing. We are going to film in the girl's toilet for our opening shot, classroom, stairway, corridor and janitor's closet. We also began to discuss what we will write in the treatment and what needs to be included e.g the main plot for the trailer and how we intend to go about filming the trailer.
